# Troubleshooting 3D navigation

Fix common 3D canvas navigation issues including locked rotation, disappearing models, and unresponsive controls.

## The model is out of view or hard to find

Click **Fit to Screen** in the viewer toolbar to reset the camera to show the full model. If **Plane Cut** is active, it may be slicing the model out of frame, click it again to toggle it off.

## Rotation feels locked or wrong

If the camera won't rotate freely, check whether **Walk Controls** (first-person mode) is active, click the icon again to exit it. You can also use the **ViewCube** (FRONT/BACK/TOP etc.) to snap to a standard orientation, or use the **Roll –90** / **Roll +90** buttons if the model is tilted unexpectedly.

## The camera perspective looks off

Open **Space Settings** and check the **Camera Type**. Switch between **Perspective** and **Orthographic** to see which suits your model. [See Change camera type](https://help.cadchat.com/en/article/change-camera-type-perspective-vs-orthographic).

## The model looks washed out or recolored

**Transparent Parts** or **Recolor Model** may be active. Click them in the canvas context menu or viewer toolbar to toggle them off.

## Mouse input isn't responding

Click inside the canvas area first to give it focus, then try again.
