<h2>Open the viewing tools</h2><p>Open a space and click the <strong>3D Canvas</strong> tab. If no model is loaded yet, you'll need to upload one first. Click it again to toggle it off. Multiple tools can be active at the same time.</p><ul><li><strong>Fit to Screen</strong>: resets the view so the entire model fits in the canvas.</li><li><strong>Show Exploding Assemblies</strong>: spreads assembly components apart so you can see individual parts.</li><li><strong>Show Transparent Parts</strong>: makes model geometry semi-transparent for internal visibility.</li><li><strong>Hide BRep Edges</strong>: removes edge lines from the model surface for a cleaner visual.</li><li><strong>Recolor Model</strong>: applies a unified color to the model.</li><li><strong>Plane Cut</strong>: slices the model with a cutting plane to reveal its interior.</li><li><strong>Capture Screen Area</strong>: draw a selection rectangle to capture a snapshot of that area.</li></ul><p>All tool states are visible to other collaborators in the space in real time.</p><hr><h2>Tips and edge cases</h2><ul><li><strong>Show Exploding Assemblies</strong> only has a visible effect on multi-part assembly files. <h2>Organizations and spaces</h2><p>CADchat organizes your work at two levels.</p><p>An <strong>organization</strong> is the top-level container for your team. It has its own member list, settings, and billing. You may belong to more than one organization, for example, if you work with multiple companies or teams.</p><p>A <strong>space</strong> lives inside an organization and is where work actually happens. Each space has its own 3D model viewer, chat, documents, whiteboard, and meeting tools. Spaces have their own members and permissions, independent of other spaces in the same organization.</p><hr><h2>Finding your organizations and opening spaces</h2><p>When you sign in, you land on the <strong>Dashboard</strong>. Your organizations appear in the <strong>sidebar</strong>. Click an organization name to expand it and see its spaces.</p><figure class="image"><img src="https://cdn-assets.productfruits.com/06f2c896-2fd5-4b44-971e-0ec3d71ab7fb"></figure><p>The <strong>Shared With Me</strong> section shows spaces you have access to that belong to other organizations. The <strong>Recently Visited</strong> and <strong>Bookmarked</strong> sections are shortcuts to spaces you open often.</p><p>Click any space card to open it. CADchat takes you to the <strong>3D Canvas</strong> tab by default. It may belong to a different organization than the one you're looking at.</li><li>If the sidebar is collapsed, click <strong>Expand</strong> to reveal organization names and sections.</li><li>To bookmark a space for quick access, click the bookmark icon on the space card.</li><li>If a space is visible but you cannot open it, or get a permission error, you may need to be invited to the space. <h2>Before you start</h2><p>You must be an org admin to invite members. Inviting users may affect your billing seat count, check your plan limits first. See <a href="https://help.cadchat.com/en/article/manage-plan-billing">Manage plan and billing</a>.</p><hr><h2>Invite org members</h2><ol><li>Click into your organization, then click the <strong>⚙</strong> icon next to your organization's name, or click your <strong>initials icon</strong> in the top right.</li><li>Select your organization from the dropdown, then click <strong>Users</strong> under <strong>Organization Settings</strong>.</li><li>Click <strong>Invite Members</strong>.<img src="https://cdn-assets.productfruits.com/9dd74a77-e6de-4f31-990e-362342701b35"></li><li>Enter the email addresses of the people you want to add.</li></ol><figure class="image"><img src="https://cdn-assets.productfruits.com/08dc8ea6-b58e-41f8-aac6-06a13c52246a"></figure><p>5. &nbsp; Confirm the invitation.</p><p>Invitees receive an email to accept and join the organization.</p><hr><h2>Tips and edge cases</h2><ul><li>Org-level membership is separate from space access. <h2>The sidebar</h2><p>The sidebar runs along the left side of every page. It gives you access to everything in CADchat.</p><ul><li><strong>Dashboard</strong>: Your home base. Shows recent activity and spaces.</li><li><strong>Calendar</strong>: View your scheduled meetings.</li><li><strong>Your organizations</strong>: Click an organization name to expand its list of spaces. You may belong to more than one. Click <strong>Expand</strong> to restore full labels.</p><figure class="image"><img src="https://cdn-assets.productfruits.com/e910f925-874d-4879-a031-ed9c18784c57"></figure><hr><h2>Search</h2><p>Use the <strong>Search</strong> bar at the top of the page to find spaces and files across your organizations.</p><figure class="image"><img src="https://cdn-assets.productfruits.com/3b363b74-7bd2-4679-8059-e09e34a8906e"></figure><h2>Tips and edge cases</h2><ul><li>If an organization is missing from the sidebar, sign out and sign back in to refresh your membership.</li><li>If the sidebar is in icon-only mode and you can't identify sections, click <strong>Expand</strong>.</li><li>Recently Visited is browser-specific. If you switch browsers or devices, the list may be empty.</li></ul>

<h2>Open the 3D Canvas</h2><p>Open a space and click the <strong>3D Canvas</strong> tab. If no model is loaded yet, click <strong>Upload 3D models</strong> or drag and drop a file into the upload zone. See <a href="https://help.cadchat.com/en/article/upload-a-3d-model-file-to-a-space">Upload a 3D model file to a space</a> for supported formats and upload steps.</p><hr><h2>ViewCube, and View Controls</h2><p>The <strong>ViewCube</strong> in the top right corner shows orientation labels (FRONT, BACK, etc.). Click a face to snap to that standard view. Use the <strong>Roll -90 / Roll +90</strong> buttons next to the ViewCube to rotate the view, or click the <strong>Home</strong> icon to reset to the default view.</p><hr><h2>Mouse Navigation</h2><ul><li><strong>Rotate</strong>: Click and drag.</li><li><strong>Pan</strong>: Right-click and drag.</li><li><strong>Zoom</strong>: Scroll wheel.</li></ul><figure class="image"><img src="https://cdn-assets.productfruits.com/56f9149f-b11e-4bd7-bf4a-4d318e590f13"></figure><hr><h2>First-person navigation</h2><p>Click the <strong>Walk controls</strong> icon (fan shape) in the toolbar to enter first-person navigation mode. They appear in the <strong>Files</strong> panel on the left.</li><li>Double-clicking a part triggers an action based on your <strong>User Preferences</strong> setting.
