Manage sharing and general link access

Overview

The Invite Users modal lets you manage who has access to a space and how a shared link behaves. You can restrict or expand access at any time.

Steps

  1. In a space, click the gear icon and select Members, or click the Invite button.
  2. In the Invite Users modal:
    • To change someone's permission level, click their current role dropdown and select Can Edit, Can Comment, or Can View Only.
    • To adjust share or download rights, check or uncheck the share and download boxes under their name.
    • To remove someone, click the red minus icon next to their name.
    • To change the general link access, click the dropdown next to Anyone with the link under General Access and choose a permission level.
  3. Click Done when finished.

Additional details

  • General Access defaults to Can View Only — anyone with the link can view but not edit or comment.
  • The share checkbox controls whether a user can share the space with others. The download checkbox controls whether they can download the original files.
  • Changes take effect immediately for all affected users.

Troubleshooting

  • If a collaborator still has access after you removed them, they may be re-joining via a general access link. Restrict the General Access setting to limit this.
  • If you cannot modify permissions, you may not be the space owner.
