Troubleshooting 3D navigation
Overview
Navigation issues in the 3D canvas usually come from camera mode, active viewing tools, or user preference settings. Most can be resolved in a few clicks.
Steps
- Click Fit to Screen in the Show Viewing Tools flyout to reset the view.
- Check if Plane Cut or other viewing tools are active — click them again to toggle them off.
- If rotation feels locked, click the Walk Controls icon to toggle walk mode off.
- If camera perspective seems off, check your Camera Type in Space Settings and switch between Perspective and Orthographic.
Additional details
- Show Transparent Parts and Recolor Model can make models look very different from expected — toggle them off if the model looks washed out or incorrect.
- The ViewCube (FRONT/BACK/etc.) lets you snap to standard orientations quickly.
- Roll -90 and Roll +90 buttons can help if the model is tilted at an unexpected angle.
Troubleshooting
- If the model disappears from view, check whether Plane Cut is active and slicing it out of frame.
- If nothing responds to mouse input, click into the canvas area first to give it focus, then try again.
- If navigation is still broken after trying the above, refresh the page.
