Space settings overview

Overview

Space Settings contains controls for the space's name, camera behavior, rendering quality, and measurement precision. Access it from the gear icon in the space header.

Steps

  1. In the space header, click the gear icon.
  2. Click Space Settings from the dropdown.
  3. Navigate between the four tabs on the left:
    • General — Change the space name, update the cover image, and view metadata (owner, created date, last modified, organization).
    • Point of View — Toggle whether your camera position is maintained when switching between 3D files, and choose Perspective or Orthographic camera mode.
    • Rendering — Toggle Plane Caps on or off (fills in the interior surface when using the Plane Cut viewing tool).
    • Measurements — Set the precision level for all measurements in this space.
  4. Changes take effect immediately — there is no Save button.

Additional details

  • Space name changes are visible to all members immediately.
  • The cover image appears on the space card in the organization view. Click the placeholder image to upload a new one.
  • Point of View settings apply per-user — each collaborator can set their own preference.
  • Measurement precision is space-wide and applies to all collaborators. The default is .001 (1/8).

Troubleshooting

  • If Space Settings is greyed out or missing from the gear menu, you may not have edit permissions for this space.
  • If the space name does not update for other collaborators, ask them to refresh the page.
