View assembly details

Overview

When an assembly file is loaded in a space, the Assembly Details panel lets you explore the full component hierarchy — searching, viewing, isolating, or hiding individual parts directly from a structured tree.

Steps

  1. Open a space with an assembly file loaded in the 3D Canvas tab.
  2. In the Files panel on the left, find the assembly file and click the Assembly Details button next to it.
  3. The Assembly Details panel opens, showing the full component tree.
  4. Use the Search Assembly... search bar at the top to find specific parts by name.
  5. Toggle Search Properties to expand the search to include part property metadata.
  6. Expand nodes in the tree to drill into sub-assemblies and individual parts.
  7. Click a part name to select or highlight it in the 3D canvas.
  8. Click the purple eye icon next to any part to toggle its visibility on or off.
  9. Hover over a part row and click the ... icon to access additional options for that part.

Additional details

  • Assembly Details is only available for multi-part assembly files. Single-part files do not show this button.
  • Hiding parts is non-destructive and only affects the current session.
  • The component hierarchy reflects the structure of the original CAD file.
  • You can use Assembly Details alongside the right-click part context menu for a full set of part-level controls.

Troubleshooting

  • If the Assembly Details button is missing, the file may not be recognized as an assembly. Try re-uploading.
  • If a part in the tree does not highlight in the canvas, try refreshing the space.
